Connecting the Tower to your local area WIFI network

-A couple of quick concepts. To connect your Tower, which has its own network, to your network, you must connect your phone to the Tower. Once connected, you'll be able to connect the Tower to your network. You can also do this with a PC or tablet. Following these instructions will connect your Tower to your network: Scan the QR code in the lower-left corner of the Tower’s Book Cover. Your phone will ask to join the LifeStoryTower network. Approve the connection. If it requests a password, enter:lifestory The Life Story Tower web page should open automatically. If it does not, open your browser and enter:192.168.4.1 Scroll to the bottom of the main page and select Creation Menu. The first time you use the Tower, create a six-digit Creator PIN. Choose a number you will remember. This PIN protects the Tower’s creation and administrative tools. From the Creation Menu, select:System Utilities → Connection Settings Enter the name and password of your home or local Wi-Fi network, then select Save and Connect. You may also give your Tower a friendly local address—perhaps your last name. Enter only the name, without .local. For example, entering: smith creates the address: smith.local Wait approximately 15 seconds. Reconnect your phone to your normal home or local Wi-Fi network. Open your browser and enter the Tower address: http://smith.local You device should now be fully connected to the Tower.

Creating your first memory in less than 5 minutes

-A 'memory' is any image that has a narration attached to it. For example, you have an image of your grandmother and you have a memory of her that you wish to tell. You want to place that image into the Tower, give it a title, an optional byline and date. Once that is done, you'll be asked to record your 'memory.' That process is called a 'memory.' To do your very first memory, select 'Open Start Here.' Then select 'Five Minutes to Create Your First Memory.' Follow the onscreen instructions. Once those steps are done, you'll have created your first memory. Congratulations!
